How do you find the average in microsoft excel The proper way i mean (with the formulas) PLEASE HELP

in any cell Type =Average(the first cell that you have data in : last cell in the row you have data in )

type in =AVERAGE(drag over your cells here)

or go to formulas tab in Excel 2007 and click insert funtion on the far left. Select average from the list and then drag over the cells wanted.

THESE ARE BOTH MEAN AVERAGE!

click the fx button located to the left of the formula bar. This will give you the list of fuctions that you can insert into a cell.

formula is : =AVERAGE(F1:F6)

F1 being your 1st box/value , F6 is the last box/value,

depending on the version you are using the automatic formula is located in th e2nd pane from the right , top row. Grouped under the "Sum of " sign ( the funny E sign ) .
